Cloud technology services
The concept of cloud technology appeared relatively recently, in 2006. Cloud-based services are becoming increasingly popular. Users of cloud services quickly gain access to resources – applications, data storage – at any time of the day or night, without wasting time contacting service providers and organizational issues.
Types of cloud technology
Depending on the rights and permissions given to the user of the service, there are three main ways in which the provider and the consumer of the cloud technology service interact:
- Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) – allows the consumer to use the software remotely. This is where the consumer’s authority ends, he does not participate in other processes of the program, but only uses it to work.
- Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) – gives the consumer access to the cloud platform – operating systems, databases, software, development and testing tools. This expands the user’s capabilities, he gets permission to change settings, to host his own software and applications.
- Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – allows you to use the cloud infrastructure to independently manage resources for processing and running software, storing data archives, control operating systems and applications.
Cloud technology models:
- Private cloud – used by a single organization, all its employees, customers or counterparties.
- Public cloud – for public access by a large audience.
- Public cloud – for use by certain communities and organizations that fit a certain criterion and meet the requested requirements.
- Hybrid cloud – is a combination of several structures. Moreover, working together, each structure maintains its own integrity and autonomy.
All technologies were developed gradually and appeared for the needs of consumers. They are designed to make life easier for their customers – to save money on software and technology, infrastructure, to respond flexibly to changes in the situation and volume of requests for a particular service.
